Ranil Wickramasinghe to remain as UNP Leader till January

Ranil Wickramasinghe is to remain as leader of the United National Party (UNP) till January 2021, the party announced today. Sri Lanka records its 13th COVID-19 death

Sri Lanka today recorded its 13th COVID-19 related death, the Government information Department said. The deceased has been identified as a 60-year old man who had served as a seaman. He died while receiving treatment at the Chilaw Base Hospital. The victim, who had arrived from Bahrain on 02 September, had not been identified as a coronavirus infected patient at the time. Navy divers deployed to block oil leak from MT New Diamond

Navy divers have been deployed to block oil from leaking from the MT New Diamond ship which was damaged in a major fire near Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka Navy said that Navy divers were deployed to block a sea water inlet of the ship after it was found that oil was getting mixed with sea water and coming out from the ship.
