Court orders final rites of monk to be carried out on beach

The Mullaitivu Magistrate’s Court today ordered that the final rites of the Chief Incumbent of the Nayaru Rajamaha Vihara be carried out on the beach opposite the temple.

Tamil residents in the area had objected to the final rites being conducted in the temple premises as there is a Hindu Kovil in the same area.

A case was filed against the final rites being conducted in the temple premises.

The Mullaitivu Magistrate’s Court today considered the objections and ordered that the final sites be conducted on the beach opposite the temple.
