Jaffna school principal arrested for obtaining bribe

The principal of a school in Jaffna has been arrested for obtaining a bribe to admit a student, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) said today.

The principal had sought a Rs. 100,000 bribe to admit the student.

CIABOC said that the principal had obtained a Rs. 50,000 bribe and was in the process of obtaining another Rs. 50,000 bribe today when he was arrested.
