One killed, 46 injured in accident

One person was killed and 46 others were injured following an accident in Homagama this morning, the police said. According to the police the accident involved a passenger bus which collided with a lorry in Galegedera, Homagama. The police media unit said that a van which was travelling behind had also then crashed into both vehicles. The injured people were rushed to the Padukka, Homagama, Kalubowila and Homagama hospitals for treatment. The passenger bus was heading to Colombo at the time

Report on Lanka to Manmohan

A multi-party Parliamentary delegation that visited Sri Lanka submitted a report on the condition of ethnic Tamils to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday. Three Lankans killed in Korea

Nine people were killed, including three migrant workers from Sri Lanka, and 25 others injured when a fire raged through a karaoke facility in Busan, South Korea, police said Sunday.
