Information DG to be informed if journalists are arrested

The Director-General of the Government Information Department will be informed when accredited media personnel are arrested in connection with any incident in future, Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said. He said that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) had given an assurance in this regard. World Bank approves $500 million loan for Sri Lanka

The World Bank?s Board of Executive Directors have approved $500 million in financing for Sri Lanka to provide safe, climate-resilient roads to connect agricultural supply chains through the Inclusive Connectivity and Development Project.
