Ravi.K’s daughter Onella appears before the CID

The Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today questioned Minister Ravi Karunanayake?s daughter Onella. She was ordered to appear before the CID to make a statement over allegations she gave false evidence before the Commission investigating the treasury bond scam. Onella was questioned by the CID on June 6 as well and her parents are also expected to be questioned. Three former LTTE members indicted for killing 26 POWs

Three former LTTE members have been indicted in the Vavuniya High Court for killing 26 Prisoners Of War (POW). The Attorney General indicted the three accused, Irasathurai Thiruwarul, Madiarasan Sulakshan and Ganeshan Darshan. They were indicted for killing 18 Navy personnel and eight Army personnel who were in LTTE custody, on 16th January 2009. They had reportedly been killed in Wallipuram within an LTTE camp a few days prior to the capture of Kilinochchi by the Army. (Colombo Gazette)

Sri Lanka raises US$2.0bn from sovereign bonds

Sri Lanka has raised 2.0 billion US dollars from 5 and 10 year sovereign bonds issued yesterday, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka said today.
