Several people have been falling sick in Thalawakale and Lindula over the past few weeks after drinking water in the area, the police media unit said today. Seven suspended over museum theft

The National Heritage Ministry has suspended seven employees over the recent theft at the national museum in Colombo. Secretary to the Ministry Kanthi Wijeytunga said that the seven include members of the security division of the museum which operates under the Ministry. Suspects who stole tsunami buoy nabbed

The police have arrested five suspects in Matara who had stolen tsunami warning equipment placed in the Indian Ocean, the police media unit said today. According to the police the suspects had stolen the items last month but they were later recovered. The police said that a buoy which was stolen was used to provide weather information as well as tsunami alerts.
