Kanjipani remanded for threatening Police officer

Notorious drug dealer Mohommad Najim Mohammad Imran alias Kanjipani Imran has been ordered to be remanded for threatening a Police officer.

Kanjipani Imran had reportedly threatened the Police officer over the telephone.

He was ordered to be remanded till 20 September by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.

Kanjipani Imran has already been jailed for six years over the possession and trafficking of 5.3Kgs of cannabis.

In March,?Mohommad Najim Mohammad Imran alias Kanjipani Imran was deported from Dubai and detained by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

Imran had been arrested together with underworld leader Makandure Madush at a hotel in Dubai before he was deported.

He was later detained and further questioned under the controversial Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).?(Colombo Gazette)

PUCSL rejects CEB least cost long term generation proposal

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has rejected a proposal made by the Ceylon Electricity Board in its least cost long term generation plan.
