Minister of Housing, Construction and Culture Affairs Sajith Premadasa today insisted that reconciliation will be protected when developing Kuragala.
He said that steps have been taken to provide electricity and other facilities to Kuragala, a pre-historic archaeological site with ruins of an ancient Buddhist Cave temple complex.
Premadasa was responding in Parliament today to a question raised by opposition Parliamentarian Vasudeva Nanayakkara.
The Minister said that reconciliation among communities will be protected when developing Kuragala.
He said that while developing Buddhist places of worship, steps will also be taken to develop places of worship of other religions, including mosques.
Premadasa had been attacked on social media recently by some monks accusing him of failing to take steps to provide much needed facilities in Kuragala.
