The joint opposition today in Parliament questioned the protection given to Rohingya refugees in Sri Lanka. The Police said it had given protection to 30?Rohingya refugees following threats to their lives from a group of monks. Seven sentenced to death over murder of Sivaloganathan Vithya

Seven accused over the rape and murder of Sivaloganathan Vithya were today sentenced to death by a trial-at-bar at the Jaffna High Court. Vithya was abducted and raped in 2015 before she was killed.
