Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) leader and Leader of the Opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa today warned against deceiving women.
He said that deceiving a woman is the biggest mistake a man can make.
Rajapaksa said that the current Government misled the women of Sri Lanka and that was where it went wrong.
The former President was speaking at the SLPP women’s convention in Colombo today.
Speaking further, Rajapaksa said that most women in Sri Lanka were in tears when the Government changed in 2015.
He said that among the women who were in tears were family members of soldiers.
Rajapaksa accused the Government of hunting soldiers despite the service they rendered during the war.
However, he says the new Government will ensure those women are no more in tears as the Presidential candidate of the SLPP is one who understands those tears.
The SLPP has put forward former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa as their Presidential candidate.
