UNP conducts disciplinary inquiry against Sujeewa, Ajith

The United National Party (UNP) has decided to conduct a disciplinary inquiry against UNP Parliamentarians Sujeewa Senasinghe and Ajith P. Perera.

Both Senasinghe and Ajith P. Perera have been asked by UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam to show cause by September 9th.

Senasinghe and Perera have been accused of breaching the party constitution by speaking against the UNP leadership.

Kariyawasam says in separate letters to Senasinghe and Perera that they had been asked to appear before the UNP disciplinary committee today but they had failed to appear.

The UNP General Secretary says the UNP disciplinary committee will decide the next course of action after the two MPs show cause by September 9th. (Colombo Gazette)
