The police are investigating the discovery of a baby in a jungle in Kattankudy, the police media unit said today. According to the police the child was found when two people had gone into the jungle to collect fire-wood. The police said that a 6 month old male child had been found abandoned inside the jungle. Sri Lanka releases 34 Indian fishermen

Sri Lanka today released 34 of the 53 Indian fishermen allegedly arrested by its Navy. This comes a day after India summoned Sri Lanka’s Deputy High Commissioner and lodged strong protest over the arrests.
