The Government has de-listed some Tamil diaspora groups and individuals. Among those de-listed are the Global Tamil Forum (GTF), an influential diaspora group based in the UK. Sri Lanka appeals to UK to lift travel advisory

Sri Lanka has appealed to the United Kingdom (UK) to lift the travel advisory on Sri Lanka. The appeal was made when Tourism Minister Harin Fernando met the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Sarah Hulton. Fernando?said that he had a successful meeting with the British High Commissioner regarding the current political climate in Sri Lanka, lifting of the travel advisory for UK travellers to Sri Lanka, the promotion of tourism and the security and safety of tourists. Madras court rules in support of Indian born to Sri Lankan parents

Bringing relief to a woman who was born to Sri Lankan Tamil parents at the Mandapam refugee camp in the Ramanathapuram District in 1986, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has held that as per the Citizenship Act, 1955, she was an Indian citizen, and directed the authorities to issue a passport to her.
