Namal says SLPP ready to submit documents on Gota

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa says the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is ready to submit documents related to former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s renunciation of his US citizenship and about his Sri Lankan citizenship, if required.

Rajapaksa was responding to a tweet by United National Party (UNP) member and non-cabinet Minister Harsha de Silva regarding ongoing controversy on Rajapaksa’s citizenship.

“Don’t worry about SLPP candidate. If his documentation is the issue, will present if needed. Worry abt governing the country for next few months, to salvage frm this sorry state. Also perhaps worry about who you can put forward to contest,” Namal Rajapaksa tweeted.

The SLPP had this week named Gotabaya Rajapaksa as the Presidential candidate of the SLPP at the next Presidential elections.

Meanwhile, the UNP is yet to agree on its Presidential candidate. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Harsha didn’t ask a question about the Easter Sunday bombings, because he is not ready to expose their own failures.

Gota has summited the papers to cancel his American citizenship, the foreign power may have decided to deliberately delaying it to make sure that their puppet Ranil wins the election. In that case the Rajapaksas must ask the people to start protesting outside of the US embassy.
