AG instructs Police to expedite probe on five cases

Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera has directed the acting Inspector General of Police to expedite and conclude investigations into five key incidents.

The incidents include the murder of journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge, murder of rugger player Wasim Thajudeen and the murder of five youth in Trincomalee.

The Attorney General has also advised the acting Inspector General of Police to instruct all Police divisions to strictly comply with provisions of the law and submit completed files on investigations into which the AG’s advice has been sought.

Over 50 hotels in Sri Lanka to refuse access to locals
