  1. “The Muslim Voice” wishes to express it’s deepest condolences to the family of former Minister and UPFA parliamentarian’s demise. Salinda Dissanayake, who was the UPFA MP for Kurunegala was a simple person and very kind to his constituents. He was well respected by his party supporters and voters and was a political pillar to Former President and present Leader of Opposition, Mahinda Rajapaksa. I had the opportunity to work with the late Salinda Dissanayake and parliamentarian Johnston Fernadon during the presidental elections trail and general elections of 2010 and 2014/2015 campaigns in support of Mahinda Rajapaksa/”pela”. Salinda Dissanayake was also respected by the Muslim voters of Kurunegala during his tenure in parliament and he had much support from among the Muslim voters of Kurunegala. The absence of Salinda Dissanayake will be a great loss to the “Mahinda pela” and the new SLPP Alliance in the forth coming presidential and general election in end 2019 and 2020. May his sould rest in peace and his family recover from his absence and grieve soon.
