SLPP Presidential candidate to prioritise discipline, security

The Presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will give priority to discipline and national security.

SLPP Chairman, Professor G.L Peiris said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be formally declared as the SLPP leader on August 11.

He said that Rajapaksa will then announce the Presidential candidate of the SLPP.

Professor G.L Peiris said that the SLPP Presidential candidate will give priority to discipline and national security.

He said that the candidate, who has already been selected, has been the choice of the general public.

The former Foreign Minister also invited the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to join the SLPP-led alliance.

Suspects involved in clash outside Colombo nightclub identified
