DSG says Zaharan not arrested despite warrants

Deputy Solicitor General (DSG) Azad Navavi told the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) on the Easter Sunday attacks today that National Thowheed Jama?ath leader Zahran Hashim was not arrested despite arrest warrants being issued.

He said that he will not accept the charge that the Attorney General’s Department was to blame over the failure to arrest Zahran Hashim.

Navavi said that warrants had been issued over a period of two years to arrest Hashim yet he was not arrested.

Hashim was the alleged mastermind of the Easter Sunday attacks and was one of the suicide bombers.
