MPs, ACJU and activists discuss issues faced by Muslim women

A discussion was held today with the participation of Muslim women activists on issues faced by Muslim women.

Muslim Members of Parliament and members of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) had the discussion with Muslim women activists.

Parliamentarian Faiszer Musthapha said the meeting was held to address long overdue issues faced by Muslim women in Sri Lanka.

“Consensus was reached on most issues except for a few contentious matters. I am confident that we will be able to move forward with necessary amendments to the MMDA expeditiously,” he said.

Five foreigners in Sri Lanka test positive for Covid

Five foreigners in Sri Lanka have tested positive for the coronavirus. The foreigners had been found to be infected after results from tests were obtained yesterday (Thursday). Officials said that 2,372 people had tested positive for the coronavirus yesterday of which five are foreigners. Cops raid Harin?s house following tip-off
