CID Director goes to Police to complain against lawyer

The Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Shani Abeysekera, has lodged a complaint with the Police saying a lawyer had made threats against him.

In his complaint, Abeysekera said that the President of the Lawyers? Collective, Attorney at Law Manoj Gamage had made threats against him at a media conference.

Just last week Abeysekera had appeared before the Parliament Select Committee on the Easter Sunday attacks to make a statement after he was summoned before the Committee.

The CID Director had been questioned on the investigations being conducted on the Easter Sunday attacks and the investigations on Dr. Mohamed Shafi Shihabdeen of the Kurunegala Hospital. (Colombo Gazette)
