AG instructs Police to arrest former MP Sri Ranga

The Attorney General (AG) has instructed the Police to arrest former Parliamentarian J. Sri Ranga and five others over a fatal accident in 2011 in which a policemen was killed. The Police Special Investigations Unit has been instructed to records statements from the suspects over the incident. Sajith says Rajapaksas have admitted Fonseka won the war

United National Front Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa says former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has, for the first time, admitted that the war was won by then Army Commander Sarath Fonseka. Final election results not expected on November 17

The final results of the Presidential election is not expected on November 17, the National Elections Commission said today. Final results of the election is usually released by the following day. However, Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said that since the ballot papers are long this time around with 35 candidates contesting the Presidential election, the final results may get delayed. The ballot paper being used for the Presidential election next month is over 2 feet long.
