Driver and security officer arrested over assault

The driver of a vehicle and a security officer have been arrested over an assault on a van driver in Kalagedihena.
The Police had been requested to investigate an incident where security officers of a suspected VIP had assaulted a van driver.
The incident had been captured on video and was circulated on social media.
Earlier today Parliamentarian Ashu Marasinghe said that he had made a written complaint to the IGP seeking an investigation into the incident.
The Parliamentarian said that he had urged the Police to bring to justice the culprits responsible for the assault on the van driver.
The Police later said that the Colombo Crimes Division had been instructed to investigate the incident.
