The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has issued conditions on the import, storing, and marketing of 48 items. The Chairman of the CAA Shantha Niriella issued a gazette notice by virtue of the powers vested in him under sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (b) of Sub-section (1) of Section 10 of the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003. IMF and Sri Lanka reach preliminary deal on emergency loan

Sri Lanka and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have reached a preliminary agreement on an emergency loan to the crisis-hit country and a formal announcement will be made on Thursday, four sources with direct knowledge of the matter said. Maithripala’s son gets SLFP organiser post

Daham Sirisena, son of former President Maithripala Sirisena, has been appointed as a party organiser of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP). Daham Sirisena has been appointed as the SLFP organiser for Polonnaruwa West. He accepted his appointment letter from SLFP leader Maithripala Sirisena. In a Facebook post Daham Sirisena said that he will use his new appointment to work for the people. He also thanked the party leadership and others who had placed their faith on him.
