SLPP takes a shot at self proclaimed First Lady of future President

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) today took a shot at Jalani Premadasa, who had claimed that she was the First Lady of the future President of Sri Lanka.

SLPP Chairman Professor G L Peiris said that while some people are claiming to be the First Lady of the future President, the SLPP has not decided who their First Lady would be.

Jalani Premadasa had said earlier that the public have placed their faith on her husband Sajith Premadasa.

She said that he will address all of their concerns, especially concerns related to housing.

SLPP Chairman Professor G L Peiris told reporters today that there are internal rifts in some political parties and as a result they are unable to decide who their Presidential candidate must be.

He said that as far as the SLPP is concerned former President Mahinda Rajapaksa will decide who their Presidential candidate will be.

Peiris said the SLPP has given Rajapaksa the full authority to pick their Presidential candidate.
