Harsha makes public his asset declarations

Non cabinet Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva made public his asset declarations via Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL).

TISL said that Dr. Harsha de Silva?has joined Parliamentarians Vasudeva Nanayakkara,?Eran Wickramaratne?and?Ranjan Ramanayake?in making their Asset Declarations for 2018/19 public.

Parliamentarians Vidura Wickramanayaka,?Tharaka Balasuriya?Mathiaparanan Abraham Sumanthiran?and?Seyed Ali Zahir Moulana made their asset declarations for 2017/18 public in February and have committed to do so again.

A total of 8 MPs from across party lines have taken the step towards increased accountability, TISL said.

Transparency International Sri Lanka has called on all 225 members of Parliament to publicly disclose their declarations of assets and liabilities in the interest of strengthening their accountability and as an example of their commitment to an open democracy.

Over 3500 arrested for violating curfew

The first Sri Lankan found to have contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka was discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda today. Curfew to be reimposed in Colombo at 12 noon tomorrow

The Police curfew currently in effect in the Colombo, Gampaha, and Puttalam Districts, and five districts in the Northern Province will be temporarily lifted at 06.00 a.m. tomorrow (24) and reimposed at 12.00 noon as opposed to 2 PM as announced yesterday.
