There has not been any complaint made over the use of distorted Sri Lanka flags at a rally staged in Kandy last Sunday.
Assistant Secretary at the District Administration division of the Ministry of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government, Ms. M.D.E. Chamilan told the Colombo Gazette that the Ministry had not received any written complaint.
The Police said that they have also not received any complaint in order to conduct investigations.
The rally in Kandy was staged by the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) where several proposals were made in the presence of a large number of monks and others.
At the rally several people were seen holding distorted Sri Lanka flags while some people also got onto the stage at the end of the rally and waved the distorted flags.
The flags did not have the two green and orange colour stripes that represent the minorities in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
