Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara, who was issued notice today to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), has been admitted to hospital.
Jayasundara was summoned before the CID today to record a statement over the Easter Sunday attacks.
However he fell ill and was admitted to the Police Hospital.
Earlier, former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando was admitted to the Intensive-Care Unit (ICU) of the Cardiology Unit at the Colombo National Hospital.
Fernando had also been given notice to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department today to record a statement over the Easter Sunday attacks. (Colombo Gazette)
