Investigations report on SriLankan and Mihin Lanka handed over

The Presidential Commission on SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka handed over its report to President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today.

The chairman of the Commission retired Supreme Court Judge Anil Gunaratne handed over the report to President Sirisena in the presence of other Commission members.

President Sirisena appointed the Commission on January 31^st, 2018 to investigate alleged irregularities at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering, and Mihin Lanka from?January 1^st, 2006 to January 31^st, 2018.

LTTE intelligence operative arrested in Chennai

India’s National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has arrested a 47-year-old former LTTE operative in connection with the probe into the seizure of 300 kg heroin, five AK-47 rifles and 1,000 live rounds of 9 mm ammunition off the coast of Vizhinjam near Thiruvananthapuram last March. Train services to resume from October 15

Train services will resume from October 15, the Railway Department said today. While the country reopened on 1st October following weeks of curfew public transport was yet to return back to normal. The Railways Department said that it is awaiting recommendations from the Health Ministry to resume operations. The Department said that it expects a set of guidelines to be issued to resume operations on 15th October. (Colombo Gazette)
