South African President Cyril Ramaphosa had talks with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Bandaranaike International Airport today.
Ramaphosa arrived in Sri Lanka while on his way to Japan to attend a summit.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe welcomed the South African President at the VVIP lounge at the airport.
The two leaders engaged in a discussion on many important issues including freedom of navigation and peace keeping in the Indian and Pacific Ocean, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
New development initiatives in Sri Lanka were also a subject of the discussions.
The South African President offered his condolences over the Easter Sunday Attacks and inquired about the steps taken by the Sri Lanka Government to address the issue. (Colombo Gazette)
