The Supreme Court (SC) is to decide on July 31 if it will take up the Fundamental Rights (FR) petition filed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara.
Jayasundara had filed the petition against him being sent on compulsory leave by President Maithripala Sirisena.
The IGP appeared in court today when the petition was considered.
The SC later fixed July 31 as the date to decide if the petition will be taken up.
President Maithripala Sirisena sent the IGP on compulsory leave after he refused to step down following the Easter Sunday attacks. (Colombo Gazette)
