Gnanasara meets Kalmunai protesters and gives assurance

Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera today visited a group of clergy and others protesting in Kalmunai and assured them he will ensure their demands are met.

Gnanasara Thera and other members of the BBS met the monks and Hindu priest who have been on a death fast demanding a separate Divisional Secretariat for Kalmunai North.

He urged the protesters not to allow the situation to escalate into violence between Tamils and Muslims in the area.

Gnanasara Thera noted that what has arisen in Kalmunai is not an issue among the people but an issue among politicians.

He assured that he will meet the respective officials and ensure the demands of the people are met.

Gnanasara Thera also gave water to drink to those on the hunger strike after which some of them were taken to hospital. (Colombo Gazette)

Price of Auto Diesel slashed by Rs. 10
