Criminal probe on cops over Easter Sunday attacks

A criminal investigation is to be conducted on nine Police officers over the Easter Sunday attacks.

The Attorney General (AG) has directed acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandana Wickramaratne to conduct the probe over lapses on the part of the Police officers with regards to the Easter Sunday attacks.

The AG has called for criminal investigations to be conducted on the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Colombo), Deputy Inspector General of Police (Western North), Deputy Inspector General of Police (SPR), Senior Superintendent of Police (Negombo), Superintendent of Police (Colombo North), Assistant Superintendent of Police (Negombo III), Assistant Superintendent of Police (Negombo IV), Officer in Charge of the Katana Police Station and Officer in Charge of the Jampettah Police Post.

  2. This is a tactic to find a scapegoat, so the leaders can continue to hold their position and enjoy what the country can offer while having no intellectual capacity to govern the country.
