Army undergoes training to face a chemical attack

The Sri Lanka Army has undergone training to face a chemical attack.

Troops belonging to different ranks have been trained in this regard, the Army said.

The Sri Lanka Army has been trained in the Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) course to respond as early as possible in the event of a chemical attack or any accident since CBRN incidents across the world are posing a threat to the human existence.

The Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering at Embilipitiya as a supportive follow-up of the 7th Army to Army Staff Talks (AAST) concluded its second Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Course recently, the Army said.

The final Exercise of the CBRN Course No-2 ?Ex-Sahayogaya? was conducted in the presence of a large gathering.

Over 45,000 children infected by Covid

Over 45,000 children have been infected by the coronavirus, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi told Parliament today. She said that 19,688 children below the age of 10 and 26,143 between the age of 10-18 have been infected with Covid.
