Sri Lanka and Japan are to sign a deal on skilled workers, Deputy Minister of Telecommunication, Digital Infrastructure and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara said today.
He said that the agreement will be signed in Japan tomorrow between the Minister of Telecommunications, Foreign Employment and Sports, Harin Fernando and the Japanese Government.
Nanayakkara said that Japan has given the opportunity for nine countries to send workers to Japan and Sri Lanka is one of those countries.
“This is a big victory for Sri Lanka,” Nanayakkara said while addressing the media today.
Nanayakkara said that Sri Lankans skilled in 14 categories will be able to obtain employment in Japan under the agreement. (Colombo Gazette)
