The Vice President of the Maldives Faisal Naseem, Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed and a Maldivian delegation are in Sri Lanka to show solidarity with the country following the Easter Sunday attacks.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that Cabinet Members of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Parliamentary Group and Members of the Governing Council of the MDP are among those who are part of the delegation.
“Sri Lanka is our second home. We received a lot of support from Sri Lanka. We want to show our solidarity with Sri Lanka. We want the world to visit Sri Lanka,” Nasheed said after arriving in Sri Lanka.
They are expected to have talks with the Sri Lankan Government and also meet the Maldivian community in Sri Lanka during the visit. (Colombo Gazette)
