Cabinet will not be meeting this week as a result of a dispute between President Maithripala Sirisena and the United National Party over the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) on the Easter Sunday attacks.
Cabinet usually meets every Tuesday but today’s meeting has been cancelled.
A Government Minister confirmed that no date has been set for cabinet to meet this week.
President Maithripala Sirisena had told the cabinet last week that he will not hold a cabinet meting till the PSC stops grilling defence officials over the Easter Sunday attacks.
The PSC has however insisted that the President cannot interfere in the work of the PSC. (Colombo Gazette)
