Muslim MPs brief Chief Prelates in Kandy

All Muslim Parliamentarians who resigned from their Ministerial portfolios recently briefed the Chief Prelates of the Asgiriya and Malwatte Chapters in Kandy today on the reasons for their resignation.

Former Minister Rauff Hakeem tweeted saying they were elated to have had the opportunity to appraise the monks on the reason for their collective resignations.

The MPs have been briefing several people following their resignation, including diplomats and members of the opposition.

The Chief Prelates in Kandy had earlier urged the Muslim MPs who had resigned from their portfolios to resume their Government duties.

The Chief Prelates had been of the opinion the resignation of the Muslim Ministers should not have happened. (Colombo Gazette)

Sri Lanka is to receive Pfizer and Moderna vaccines in two weeks, the Government said today. State Minister of Production, Supply, and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Professor Channa Jayasumana said that the Government is to receive three vaccine brands still not in use in Sri Lanka. CMC to administer AstraZeneca second dose for those above 70 this week

The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) is to administer the second dose of the Covishield AstraZeneca vaccine for people above the age of 70 this week.
