Mangala goes to CID over fake latter addressed to Pope

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera has complained to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over a fake letter with his signature addressed to the Pope.

Samaraweera’s office said that the letter dated 03 June 2019 on a Parliament Letterhead addressed to His Holiness the Pope, which is attributed to the Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera, MP, is fake.

The fabrication of a Parliament Letterhead and the Minister?s signature are serious matters as is the fabricated content of the letter, Samaraweera’s office said.

Samaraweera’s office said that action has been taken to lodge a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sri Lanka Police requesting that this matter be investigated immediately. (Colombo Gazette)

Fresh expressions of interests for Indo-Lanka ferry service

The Government is to call for fresh Expressions Of Interests (EOIS) to resume the ferry service between India and Sri Lanka, Ports and Shipping Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe told the Colombo Gazette.
