Sri Lanka to witness monsoon onset from Monday

South-west monsoon conditions will establish over Sri Lanka from Monday, the Department of Meteorology said today.

The Department of Meteorology said that there is a high possibility of enhanced showery conditions being experienced in the South-Western part of the island from 03rd June.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Southern, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces.

Several spells of light showers will occur in North-western province.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2.00 p.m.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
