The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) says it is ready to support a motion to dissolve Parliament.
Parliamentarian Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said that there are some elements in Parliament who must be removed.
Addressing journalists at a media briefing organised by the SLPP today,Abeywardena said that if there is someone not suitable to be in Parliament that person will be removed by the public at an election.
He said that if a motion is submitted to dissolve Parliament the SLPP will support that motion.
Abeywardena said that the public must be allowed to elect more suitable representatives to Parliament and replace those who should be out.
He urged the Government to set the stage for a Parliamentary election soon without leaving room for more chaos in the country. (Colombo Gazette)
