Court of Appeal decides to hear fresh case on Wilpattu resettlement

The Court of Appeal has decided to hear a fresh case on the resettlement of families in Wilpattu.

The case will be heard against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen from July 31.

Bathiudeen has been accused of clearing forest area adjacent to Wilpattu to resettle several Muslim families.

However the Minister has denied the allegations saying the area had been cleared prior to 2012 and was approved by the former Government.
