Germany funds translations of nuclear disarmament treaties to Sinhala and Tamil

The German Federal Foreign Office has granted funds to the Forum on Disarmament and Development (FDD) for the translation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) to the Sinhala and Tamil languages. Committee to study AG’s instructions to arrest High Court Judge

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wikramarathne has appointed a five member committee to study instructions issued by the Attorney General to arrest interdicted High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitya over the controversial Ranjan Ramanayake telephone recordings. Parliament informed Ranjan has not tabled controversial recordings

Parliament was informed today (Thursday) that Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake has not tabled the controversial telephone recordings. Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri told Parliament today that while it was reported that Ramanayake had tabled the recordings, as of Thursday morning nothing had been submitted to Parliament.
