Two close associates of NTJ leader arrested by STF

Two close associates of National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) leader Saharan Hashim have been arrested.

The Police Special Task Force (STF) made the arrest in Horowupotana.

Investigations had revealed that the two suspects had visited Colombo often with Saharan Hashim and were also involved in planning the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

They were also contracted to construct a new mosque of the NTJ in Horowupotana.

The STF handed over the two suspects to the Police for further investigations.

The Police were granted permission by court to detain and question the suspects for 72 hours.
