MP fears Sri Lanka blocking ferry service with India

Illangai Tamil Arasu Katchi MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam today raised fears of the Sri Lankan Government attempting to block the launch of a ferry service between India and Sri Lanka. Rasamanickam told Parliament that several Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu are keen to return to Sri Lanka by ferry with some of their goods which they cannot transport by plane. ITAK MPs protest in Parliament in support of Batticaloa farmers

MPs from the Illangai Thamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) staged a protest in Parliament in support of dairy farmers in Batticaloa who have been protesting over the occupation of pasture land. The protest in Parliament was led by MP Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam. Rasamanickam told Parliament that the dairy farmers have been on protest for 23 days against the encroachment of pasture land.
