The Government has decided to carry out an independent security audit following the Easter Sunday attacks.
Non-Cabinet Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva said that tourists will not return to Sri Lanka in a day or two.
He said that the Government needs to take steps to instill confidence in tourists that Sri Lanka is safe.
“If we go around the world and tell tourists to return and something happens we will face bigger problems,” he said.
As a result, he said that the Government has decided to carry out an independent security audit.
He said that through an independent security audit Sri Lanka will be able to assure the tourism sector, diplomatic community and others that the country is safe.
