Three civilians, two cops rewarded for giving vital info

Three civilians have been rewarded for giving vital information to the security forces with regards to the suspects linked to the Easter Sunday bombers.

The Police said that the civilians, said to be Muslims in the East, were given Rs. 1 million as a reward.

According to the Police media unit, two policemen were also given Rs. 500,000 each as a reward for helping to crackdown on the terror group.

Journalist arrested for assisting criminals transport weapons

A journalist attached to a newspaper has been arrested for assisting criminals transport weapons. The Police said that the 30 year-old journalist had misused the media identification card during the coronavirus lockdown and transported illegal weapons. Tuition teacher charged with sexually abusing 12 year-old boy

A tuition teacher has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 12 year-old boy. The suspect was arrested by the Special Investigation Unit of the National Child Protection Authority.
