Special Police security to be provided for schools

Special Police security will be provided for Government schools when schools reopen on Monday, the Education Ministry said today.

Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that at least one Police officer will placed at each school.

He told reporters today that the decision to reopen schools on Monday was taken after extensive discussions with the security forces and others.

All schools are expected to implement tough security measures when schools reopen on Monday.
