Actor Ryan Van Rooyen further remanded

Actor Ryan Van Rooyen, who was arrested in Dubai and deported to Sri Lanka, was today ordered to be further remanded until May 9.

Van Rooyen was detained at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on April 4th and handed over to the Weligama Police the next day.

The Police then produced him before a Magistrate and the Magistrate ordered that he be remanded.

Ryan Van Rooyen was among several people arrested with notorious underworld leader Makandure Madush at a hotel in Dubai in February.

Over the past few days most of them were deported to Sri Lanka and detained at the Katunayake airport.?(Colombo Gazette)
