Assets owned by the group behind the Easter Sunday bombings is to be seized.
The Police said that the Criminal Investigations Department has identified the assets.
He said that steps are now being taken to seize the assets.
President Maithripala Sirisena this week banned the National Thawheed Jammath (NTJ) and Jamathei Millathu Ibraheem (JMI).
President Maithripala Sirisena, in terms of the powers vested in him as the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka under Emergency Regulations No. 01 of 2019, had taken steps to ban the National Thawheed Jammath and Jamathei Millathu Ibraheem in Sri Lanka.
As such, all activities of those organizations as well as their property will be seized by the Government.
